The limited edition coffee table book of photographer Scott Baxter’s 100 large-format black-and-white photographs of Arizona’s longest-active ranchers, 100 Years 100 Ranchers, has been printed and is available for purchase.

The first-edition-only printing of 2000 224-page books includes a forward by Pulitzer-Prize nominated cowboy photographer Jay Dusard; an introduction by W. James Burns, Ph.D., executive director of the Desert Caballeros Western Museum where the 100-photograph is on exhibit through October 7; and an essay by Kelly Kramer, managing editor of Arizona Highways Magazine.

Baxter started taking the photographs in 1999 after meeting Arizona rancher Wink Crigler, whose grandmother, Arizona pioneer Molly Butler, established the Greer guest lodge in 1902.

The first photo for 100 Years 100 Ranchers was Baxter’s stark image of Sam Udall checking fences on a snowy day near the Sunrise Ski Resort.   The images in the collection also capture faces of other Arizona pioneering families including the Perkins, Riggs, Ronstadts and Hays.
