Overview
Denny Emerson, USEA Hall of Famer, reveals seven factors that lead to success in any Equestrian sport.
Description
What do excellent riders possess that most do not? This is a question that many ask, but few have explored the sport of riding horses for an answer. Denny Emerson, an internationally known rider and one of the The Chronicle of the Horse's "50 most influential horsemen of the Twentieth Century," has devoted years to thinking about this. He has drawn the conclusion that there are seven factors that relate to becoming a world-class rider: personal drive, life circumstances, support network, knowledge, physical skill, character traits, and the horse.

This book examines these elements and offers insight into what can be changed and how to accept what cannot. Emerson provides real-life examples from his own riding career and is joined by twenty-five other riders who have attained "world-class rider" status. Sit back, learn what it takes to excel in equestrian sports.

Denny Emerson, eventer, trainer, coach, author, leader, activist, has been a significant, influential force in the equestrian community for a half-century. Denny has forged a career with horses which culminated in his receiving both the United States Eventing Association's (USEA) Wofford Cup for lifetime service, the American Riding Instructor Certification Program Lifetime Achievement Award and induction into the USEA Hall of Fame in 2006.

Denny is also a respected writer including many features and covers in Practical Horseman. This new book will be excerpted in the February 2011 issue of Practical Horseman.
